Made from late-harvest fruit, often with a touch of botrytis, the wine comes from limestone and clay-rich vineyards overlooking the Loire River. The nose reveals winter pear, baked apple, honey, quince and citrus marmalade, alongside delicate floral and toasty notes. Lusciously textured yet wonderfully fresh, the palate balances ripe orchard fruit and gentle sweetness with vibrant Chenin Blanc acidity, ensuring the finish remains precise and refreshing rather than cloying. A classic Loire Valley moelleux that showcases why Chenin Blanc is one of the world’s great sweet wine grapes. Rich, elegant and beautifully balanced, it pairs superbly with blue cheese, foie gras, tarte tatin, poached pears and fruit-based desserts. Delicious now, but it has the structure and acidity to evolve gracefully for a decade or more.
