The 2022 Prophet's Rock Olearia Pinot Noir is the flagship Pinot Noir from the estate's dramatic Rocky Point Vineyard in Bendigo, Central Otago. Sourced exclusively from the highest, steepest schist-based parcels overlooking Lake Dunstan, the wine is handpicked, wild fermented with minimal extraction and matured for 17 months in French oak, 35% new. The nose is beautifully perfumed, revealing black cherry, wild raspberry and red plum layered with lavender, forest floor, subtle spice and crushed stone. Awarded 96+ points by Wine Advocate and 95 points by James Suckling, it is a superb expression of this remarkable site.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky, fine-grained tannins, vibrant natural acidity and impressive mineral tension. Concentrated dark and red berry fruit is balanced by savoury spice and a long, refined finish that is both powerful and elegant.
