The 2022 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles is 100% Pinot Noir from an elevated village vineyard above Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, offering a distinctive expression of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. The domaine’s 1.60-hectare holding was planted in 1990, faces southeast and sits at approximately 325 metres altitude. Clay-limestone soils over Prémeaux limestone and white oolites provide the foundation for a wine known for finesse, freshness and length. Based in Marsannay-la-Côte, Bruno Clair brings extensive experience across Burgundy’s vineyards to this site, producing a Chambolle whose hillside origins are reflected in its precise fruit and finely drawn structure.
The 2022 reveals red berries, dark cherry and floral perfume, with subtle vine-smoke, spice and woodland notes adding savoury detail. Its succulent fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and a saline finish, giving the wine both charm and definition. Jasper Morris MW awarded an early assessment of 90–92 Points, highlighting the contrast between generous fruit and the tighter structure of its hillside site. Neal Martin also awarded 90–92 Points for Vinous, praising its fresh palate and poised finish, while William Kelley’s 90–91 Points for The Wine Advocate emphasised purity, fine structure and melting tannins. Burgundy-Report additionally noted its silky texture and persistent energy.
