The 2021 Quin Wines Barossa Valley Grenache is a single-vineyard Grenache from Aldo’s Vineyard in Williamstown, at the southern end of the Barossa Valley. Much of the vineyard dates to 1930 and grows on deep silty grey loam over yellow clay. The nose is expressive with raspberry and strawberry alongside black peppercorn, sage and savoury spice.
On the palate, it is generous yet finely structured, with vibrant red berries, savoury complexity and stalky tannins providing length and drive. Two hand-harvested parcels were fermented separately using 100% and 50% whole bunches, then pressed together after three weeks on skins and matured for eight months in seasoned French oak. Only 155 cases were produced.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Grenache drinkers who enjoy expressive Barossa reds with ripe red fruit, savoury herbs and structured whole-bunch tannins. With several years of bottle age, it is drinking well now. Ideal with roast lamb, grilled pork, charred vegetables, mushroom dishes, slow-cooked beef or aged cheeses.
