2021 Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese

The 2021er Dr Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese was made from fruit harvested at a full 91° Oechsle and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (78 g/l). It offers a beautiful nose driven by vineyard peach, white flowers, a hint of sage, green apple, whipped cream, and smoke. The wine is nicely playful and engaging on the palate and leaves a nice feel of fresh apple, ripe peach, and white flowers in the long and balanced finish. The aftertaste is nicely persistent and vibrating. This is a beautiful Spätlese with already some Auslese allure in the making.
