The 2020 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Aleste Magnum (1500ml) is a benchmark 100% Nebbiolo from the renowned Cannubi Boschis vineyard in Barolo, Piedmont. Renamed Aleste in honour of Luciano Sandrone's grandchildren, this single-vineyard Barolo is fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-litre French oak tonneaux before extended bottle ageing. Bottled in magnum, it offers exceptional ageing potential, with expressive aromas of red cherry, raspberry and rose petals, layered with earthy minerals, dried herbs and subtle spice.
On the palate, it is full-bodied with vibrant acidity, refined yet firm tannins and remarkable depth. Flavours of ripe red berries, liquorice and savoury spice are supported by a mineral backbone, leading to a long, precise finish. The 2020 vintage combines concentration with elegance, while the magnum format encourages slower development and even greater complexity over time.
