2021 Moores Hill Tasmania Chardonnay
Estate fruit from the Tamar Valley. 100% fermented in (30% new) French oak barrels; partial wild yeast; lees stirred for 2 months; 50–70% natural mlf. Concentrated and determined. Rich yet precise white peach, fig and lemon are confidently boosted by nutty, biscuity French oak and charged with a racy line of Tasmanian acidity. It holds long and strong on the finish. Fruit, oak and acid are all in the right places, lacking nothing in presence, if a little in finesse.
