'Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Saint-Georges is a little closed and broody to begin, soon unfurling to reveal notes of baked black cherries, mulberries and plum preserves with touches of Marmite toast, wild mushrooms and damp soil plus a hint of hoisin. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has compellingly crunchy black fruits with a finely grained texture and well-balanced freshness, finishing earthy.
