The 2019 Château Meyney is a superb Saint-Estèphe and one of the Médoc’s great value wines, often performing well above its classification. The nose reveals blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum alongside notes of cedar, graphite and violets. The palate is powerful yet beautifully balanced, with layers of ripe dark fruit supported by firm, finely polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Hints of tobacco leaf, liquorice, crushed stone and savoury spice add complexity, while the finish is long, structured and impressively persistent. The high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot, gives the wine both classic Saint-Estèphe character and outstanding ageing potential.

A benchmark Saint-Estèphe that offers exceptional quality and value for Bordeaux lovers. Structured, complex and highly age-worthy, it pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, venison, game dishes and aged hard cheeses. Decant for at least an hour if drinking now, or cellar through 2045–2055 as it develops greater cedar, cigar box, truffle and earthy complexity.
