Produced from 100% Rolle (the local name for Vermentino), the wine comes from steep terraces planted on the region’s unique poudingue soils — ancient limestone pebbles bound by sand and clay. The nose reveals white peach, pear and citrus blossom layered with notes of fennel, wild herbs and sea spray. A fascinating and under-the-radar French white that offers a unique alternative to Provence, Vermentino and coastal Italian whites. Textural, mineral and beautifully food-friendly, it pairs superbly with grilled seafood, lobster, Mediterranean fish dishes, bouillabaisse, roast chicken and fresh goat’s cheese. Drinking beautifully now, but it has the structure to continue evolving through 2028–2030, developing additional complexity and savoury nuance.
