2018 Lethbridge Indra Shiraz

The 2018 Lethbridge Indra Shiraz is a flagship, single-block expression from the Moorabool Valley in Geelong, representing one of the estate’s most powerful and age-worthy wines. Sourced from low-yielding vines on basalt and limestone soils, and crafted with minimal intervention, it reflects a Rhône-inspired style that balances intensity with perfume and finesse. The nose is highly perfumed and complex, revealing violet, lavender and rose petal layered with black cherry, blackberry and plum. These are intertwined with cracked black pepper, dried herbs and savoury notes of olive and cured meat, with the inclusion of whole-bunch fermentation and a small portion of co-fermented Viognier adding aromatic lift and spice.

On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with fine, structured tannins and vibrant acidity that provide both power and precision. The fruit is dark and concentrated, supported by layers of spice, earth and mineral nuance. Despite its intensity, the wine remains balanced and composed, leading to a long, savoury and persistent finish with underlying energy and finesse.
