The 2018 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Half Bottle (375ml) is a beautifully concentrated Mosel Riesling from the famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. The 2018 shows an expressive combination of white peach, pineapple, mangosteen and quince, with floral notes, fresh herbs and fine slate minerality adding complexity.
On the palate, it is luscious and generous yet remarkably vibrant, with ripe orchard and tropical fruit balanced by bright acidity and a persistent salty mineral character. At around 8% alcohol, it retains the delicate, light-footed quality that makes Prüm’s Auslese wines so distinctive. The 2018 received 97 points from James Suckling and 95+ points from Wine Advocate.

At Wine More Cellars, this 375ml half-bottle is an excellent choice for experiencing one of the Mosel’s benchmark Auslese Rieslings in a convenient format. Already delicious, but its concentration and acidity give it the potential to develop beautifully for many decades. Ideal with spicy Asian dishes, pork belly, pâté, blue cheese or fruit-based desserts.
