The 2005 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Half Bottle (375ml) is a mature Mosel Riesling from one of the Middle Mosel’s most celebrated slate vineyards. The 2005 Auslese shows remarkable concentration and purity, with peach, golden apple, pineapple and lime, complemented by floral notes and pronounced slate minerality. The standard Auslese received 97 points from Wine Spectator and 95 points from Wine Enthusiast.
On the palate, it is rich and luscious yet beautifully balanced, with vibrant acidity keeping the mature fruit fresh and precise. With two decades of bottle development, expect additional complexity of honey, beeswax, preserved citrus and subtle pastry notes, while the mineral backbone maintains impressive length and definition.

At Wine More Cellars, this 375ml half-bottle offers a wonderful opportunity to experience mature Joh. Jos. Prüm without opening a full bottle. It is drinking beautifully now, although well-stored examples should continue to develop for many years. Serve chilled with pork belly, pâté, roast duck, blue cheese, spicy Asian dishes or a lightly sweet fruit tart.
