The 2025 Xavier Goodridge Avon Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard Gippsland Pinot Noir from the Avon Vineyard at Maffra. The one-hectare block of MV6 Pinot Noir was planted in 1987, with mature vines producing small bunches and concentrated fruit. The wine shows bright raspberry and red berry fruit alongside savoury spice, earthy notes and subtle herbal complexity.
On the palate, it is elegant and finely structured, with fresh acidity, silky texture and refined tannins supporting the vibrant red fruit. The hand-picked fruit was carefully destemmed and fermented for 25 days before maturation for ten months in French oak barriques, with 30% new oak, adding depth and gentle spice while maintaining fruit purity.
