The 2024 Woodstock Next Gen Montepulciano is a fresh and modern McLaren Vale red that highlights a lighter, more vibrant expression of this traditional Italian variety. Produced from Woodstock’s single vineyard planted in 2010, the wine was crafted to focus on freshness, bright fruit and savoury structure rather than heavy extraction. The nose is lifted and expressive, showing aromas of red berries, mulberry and blueberry alongside hints of hibiscus tea, dried herbs and subtle spice. 

On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright acidity and fine, slightly chalky tannins creating a fresh and food-friendly structure. Flavours of red cherry, plum and dark berry fruit are supported by savoury spice, gentle herbal notes and subtle earthy complexity. Partial maturation in stainless steel helps preserve freshness and purity, while a small oak component softens the palate and adds texture without dominating the fruit.
