The Alfaro family continues to coax magical fruit out of these nearly 50-year-old vines year after year. We have access to just a few rows of Pinot Noir here, providing a tiny quantity of vivid, bright, and delicious wine. Darker fruits, bordering on purple, jump out of the glass like fireworks, combining with a savoury edge classic to Santa Cruz. The palate reminds us of a perfect blood orange - mild phenolic bitterness wrapped up in mouthwatering red fruit. The tannins are in a perfect spot, firm but never overbearing. All together, an exercise in balance. Stunning.
