VINCENT PINARD

Domaine Vincent Pinard is one of the most respected and dynamic estates in Sancerre, located in the picturesque village of Bué in France’s Loire Valley. With a family heritage spanning nearly twenty generations, the domaine is today led by brothers Florent and Clément Pinard, who continue their father Vincent’s legacy with a modern, precise, and terroir-driven approach. The family’s 17 hectares of vineyards—planted primarily to Sauvignon Blanc with a smaller portion of Pinot Noir—are spread across some of the appellation’s finest sites, including the prized limestone and clay-limestone slopes of Kimmeridgian marl and caillottes (pebbly limestone soils). These exceptional terroirs lend the wines their signature minerality, tension, and elegance.

Viticulture at Domaine Vincent Pinard is guided by a deep respect for the land. The vines are densely planted, yields kept low, and all harvesting is done by hand. The estate has moved increasingly toward organic and biodynamic practices, eliminating herbicides and minimizing intervention in both vineyard and cellar. In winemaking, the Pinard brothers favor indigenous yeasts, restrained use of oak, and minimal filtration, allowing each cuvée to express its pure sense of place. Fermentations are carried out in a mix of stainless steel and oak, depending on the cuvée, with an emphasis on precision and balance rather than power or overt richness.

The Sauvignon Blancs from the domaine are benchmarks for the region—refined, textural, and deeply expressive. Signature wines include Florès, Nuance, Harmonie, Petit Chemarin, Grand Chemarin, Le Château, and the revered Chêne Marchand, each representing distinct vineyard parcels. The Pinot Noirs, including Charlouise and Vendanges Entières, are equally admired for their finesse, aromatic depth, and Burgundian-style complexity. Across the range, the wines display an unmistakable clarity, minerality, and longevity, making them favorites among sommeliers and collectors alike.
