The 2024 Dr Loosen Erdener Treppchen GG is a dry Riesling from one of the Mosel’s steep VDP.GROSSE LAGE vineyards, grown on iron-rich red slate. Made from old vines, it shows ripe peach, apricot and quince with citrus, savoury spice and a distinctive slate-driven mineral character.
On the palate, it is dry and concentrated with vibrant acidity, ripe yellow fruit and a firm mineral structure. Saline notes and subtle spice provide depth, leading to a long, precise finish. The combination of old vines and the steep red-slate site gives this Grosses Gewächs both intensity and strong ageing potential.
