Frederic Rossignol is the 5th generation to run this family domaine – his brother runs Rossignol-Cornu in the village. Frederic’s label dates from his great-grandfather in the 1920s – who, with a local friend, was one of the first in Volnay to bottle – Rossignol-Louis was the domaine name. Today’s domaine adds the Février name which comes from Frederic’s mother. Frederic Rossignol embodies the core of his family's renowned Domaine in Volnay, France, now entering its 5th generation. Having been certified biodynamic since 2013, the Domaine encompasses over 7.5 hectares and proudly retains full control over bottling and distributing 100% of its production for close to four decades. While predominantly available in France, the wines have made a significant impact in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Japan. Frederic's commitment to biodynamic principles and minimal intervention in winemaking includes grape sorting in the vineyard and minimal filtration. In Frederic’s winemaking process, he utilizes 1 to 2-year-old barrels instead of new oak, as it enables him to capture the essence of Volnay, known for its finesse and delight.
