The Domaine de Marcoux Vin de France Raisin de Loup NV (2023 release) is a beautifully vibrant and joyfully drinkable Rhône-inspired red from one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s benchmark biodynamic estates. Crafted by the Armenier family from organically farmed vineyards in the southern Rhône, the wine is produced in a fresh, low-intervention style designed to emphasise purity of fruit, energy and Mediterranean character rather than weight or extraction. The nose reveals wild strawberry, red cherry and blackberry layered alongside garrigue herbs, cracked pepper and subtle earthy spice, giving the wine impressive aromatic lift and charm.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with supple tannins, bright natural acidity and a finely balanced mineral core. Layers of juicy red and dark berry fruit, savoury herbal notes and gentle spice are balanced by freshness and silky texture, finishing lively, energetic and beautifully persistent with excellent drinkability. Minimal sulphur use and restrained élevage preserve the wine’s youthful vibrancy and transparency, making it a particularly expressive and approachable Rhône blend.
