2019 Woodstock The Octogenarian Grenache x 12 bottles

The 2019 Woodstock The Octogenarian Grenache is a concentrated and site-driven McLaren Vale Grenache sourced from bush vines planted more than 80 years ago in the Blewitt Springs sub-region. These old dry-grown vines, rooted in deep sandy soils, produce naturally low yields and intense fruit concentration while maintaining freshness and aromatic detail. The nose is highly perfumed and complex, revealing aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry and red cherry layered with rose petal, baking spice, dried herbs and subtle earthy savouriness.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins and vibrant acidity creating both elegance and structure. Flavours of red berry fruit, blood plum and cranberry are supported by savoury spice, fine mineral notes and gentle oak influence that adds texture without overwhelming the fruit. The old-vine concentration gives the wine impressive depth and persistence, while the cooler Blewitt Springs character keeps the palate refined and energetic. The finish is long, savoury and finely balanced with delicate spice and chalky tannin grip.
