The 2024 Silent Way Pinot Noir is a beautifully expressive cool-climate Pinot Noir crafted by Matt Harrop from the high-altitude Quarry Ridge Vineyard near Kilmore, on the edge of the Macedon Ranges, with a small contribution from Yarra Valley fruit. Produced from a long, dry growing season and incorporating around 10% whole bunch fermentation, the wine balances depth and structure with freshness and perfume. Silent Way has built a strong reputation for delivering serious cool-climate Pinot Noir at exceptional value, and the 2024 release is widely regarded as one of the strongest vintages yet.
The nose reveals black cherry, plum and boysenberry layered with cassis, spice, dark chocolate and subtle forest-floor complexity. On the palate, it is medium-bodied yet powerful with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a concentrated core of dark berry fruit. Layers of pomegranate, blackberry and poached plum unfold with freshness and savoury detail, while the whole bunch component adds spice, texture and complexity. The finish is long, smooth and finely structured with earthy undertones and classic cool-climate elegance.
