TUSCANY
Tuscany (Toscana) is one of Italy’s most famous and influential wine regions, located in central Italy and renowned for producing some of the world’s most iconic wines. With a winemaking history dating back thousands of years, Tuscany is celebrated for its combination of rolling hills, diverse soils and a warm Mediterranean climate, ideal for growing premium grape varieties.
The region is best known for Sangiovese, Tuscany’s signature grape, which forms the backbone of many classic wines including Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. These wines are known for their bright acidity, red cherry fruit, earthy complexity and structured tannins, making them both food-friendly and age-worthy.
In addition to traditional wines, Tuscany is also home to the famous “Super Tuscan” category, where international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are blended with Sangiovese to create rich, modern styles with global appeal.
Tuscany’s diverse terroirs—from coastal areas like Bolgheri to inland hills—allow for a wide range of wine styles, from elegant reds to fresh whites and rosé.
