The 2022 Louis Jadot Corton Grèves Grand Cru is a powerful Burgundy Pinot Noir from a south-east-facing parcel on the Hill of Corton. Grown on siliceous soils, it shows dark cherry, raspberry and blackberry with violet, earthy notes and savoury spice, combining the depth expected of Corton with a refined aromatic character.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured with concentrated red and dark berry fruit, balanced acidity and firm yet silky tannins. The hand-harvested fruit is destemmed and macerated for three to four weeks before 18 months in oak barrels, around one-third new. The finish is long, savoury and firmly built for bottle development.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Burgundy collectors who enjoy powerful Grand Cru Pinot Noir with structured tannins, savoury depth and long-term ageing potential. Pair with roast beef, lamb, duck, game, mushroom dishes or mature cheeses, and consider further cellaring to allow the structure to soften and develop.
