The 2021 Domaine de Montille Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a refined and distinctly classical expression of one of Burgundy’s most historic Grand Cru vineyards. Domaine de Montille owns approximately 0.29 hectares in the upper part of Clos de Vougeot, within the lieu-dit Dix Journaux, a particularly well-positioned section of this enormous and highly variable Grand Cru. The cool 2021 vintage naturally produced a more restrained style, emphasising perfume, freshness and terroir rather than the density and ripeness seen in warmer years. The domaine’s organic and biodynamic approach, combined with careful hand harvesting and selection, further reinforces the purity and precision of the wine.
