The 2025 Gentle Folk Pinot Noir is a vibrant Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir drawn from several high-elevation vineyards across the region, with vines ranging from 5 to 37 years old. The varied sites feature light loamy clay over sandstone with schist and quartz rubble. Aromatically, the wine shows dark cherry, raspberry and plum alongside floral notes, herbs and savoury spice.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and energetic, with juicy red and dark fruit, lively acidity and fine tannins. Most of the fruit underwent three weeks of open-top fermentation with around 20% whole clusters, alongside smaller 100% whole-bunch components. It was then matured for eight months in French oak barriques and puncheons, with 15% new oak.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Pinot Noir drinkers who enjoy bright Adelaide Hills fruit with savoury complexity, fine tannins and restrained oak. Enjoy now or over the medium term. Ideal with roast duck, grilled salmon, roast chicken, mushroom dishes, pork or soft cheeses.
