The 2021 Juniper Cornerstone Wilyabrup Chardonnay is a refined Margaret River Chardonnay sourced from one of the region’s most highly regarded subregions. Crafted from a blend of Clone 95 and traditional Gingin Chardonnay, the wine was whole bunch pressed and wild fermented in French oak, creating a layered and finely structured cool-climate expression with impressive balance and ageing potential.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright acidity and a creamy, textured mouthfeel, delivering flavours of white peach, grapefruit, lemon curd and pear layered with oatmeal, roasted almond and subtle flinty mineral notes. Oak is carefully integrated, adding depth and savoury complexity without overpowering the fruit. The finish is long, fresh and mineral-driven with excellent precision and restraint.
