The 2018 Yeringberg Shiraz Museum Release is a mature cool-climate red from the historic Yeringberg estate in the Yarra Valley. A blend of 97% Shiraz and 3% Viognier, it shows blueberry, dark cherry and red plum with violet, black pepper, liquorice and savoury herb notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant acidity, fine tannins and concentrated red and blue fruit. Savoury spice, pepper and earthy notes add complexity, while 17 months in French oak brings structure without dominating the fruit. The finish is long, fresh and finely composed.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this Museum Release is a great choice for Shiraz drinkers who appreciate mature, elegant Yarra Valley reds with savoury complexity. Drinking beautifully now, it pairs well with roast lamb, duck, grilled beef, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses.
