2022’s growing season was mild & dry with warm flowering conditions developing average yields. Cooler than usual night temperatures helped with brilliant natural acidity levels and ripening conditions were near perfect. There were no significant heat events which also helped with aromatics. 2022 promises to be one of the great years for the Barossa. Rainfall: 435ml (April ’21-March ’22 avg. 465ml).
A keenly priced shiraz that is sourced from an amalgam of Barossan parishes – Bethany, Ebenezer, Greenock, Krondorf, Flaxman Valley and Moculta (60/40% Eden Valley/Barossa Valley). Bright crimson with a wash of plum and black cherry fruits, thick with spice and hints of dried herbs, dark chocolate, licorice, gentle wood spice and earth. It retains a lightness of form and bright energy despite its considerable fruit depth, and that all makes for a solid (and delicious) bistro-style wine. - 92 points, Dave Brookes
