The 2023 Domaine Denis Mortet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is an exceptional Pinot Noir from the historic Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. Sourced from a prized parcel in the lower-middle section of the vineyard, the wine is crafted with around 40% whole-bunch fermentation and matured in French oak to enhance its depth while preserving vineyard expression. It opens with expressive aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry and violet, layered with subtle brown spice, earthy notes and remarkable mineral precision.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity and outstanding concentration. Flavours of fresh cherry, red currant and savoury spice are framed by a refined mineral backbone, leading to a long, structured finish.
