The 2022 Domaine Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Guettes is a beautifully structured Pinot Noir from one of the most respected family estates in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Aux Guettes is one of the appellation’s most distinctive premier cru vineyards, known for producing wines with greater minerality, tension and ageing potential than many of the village’s more approachable sites. The excellent 2022 vintage has delivered a wine that balances generous fruit with the precision and elegance that define great red Burgundy.
The nose reveals red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry aromas layered with forest floor, earthy spice and subtle floral notes. The palate is refined and energetic, with vibrant red fruit supported by fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a pronounced mineral backbone. Hints of woodland earth, savoury herbs and spice emerge on the long, structured finish, suggesting excellent cellaring potential.

A serious and elegant Premier Cru Burgundy that rewards patience. Its combination of purity, structure and complexity makes it an excellent match for duck, roast chicken, game birds, mushroom dishes and soft-rind cheeses. Enjoy from now with decanting, but ideally cellar through 2038+ to allow its full complexity and savoury character to emerge.
