The NV Champagne Agrapart Complantée Grand Cru (Base 2021, Disgorged June 2025) is one of Champagne’s most distinctive terroir-driven wines from the legendary Pascal Agrapart. Produced from a single Grand Cru vineyard in Avize planted with seven traditional Champagne grape varieties — Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Arbane, Petit Meslier and Fromenteau — it pays homage to the region’s historic mixed plantings. Fermented and aged in old oak barrels with no malolactic fermentation and minimal dosage, Complantée is a unique expression of place, complexity and tradition.
The nose reveals lemon zest, white flowers, green apple and pear layered with almond, chalk and subtle spice. On the palate, it is beautifully textured and intensely mineral, with vibrant acidity, fine mousse and flavours of citrus, orchard fruit and crushed chalk. Complex yet precise, it finishes long, saline and remarkably energetic, showcasing Agrapart’s hallmark purity and precision.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A fascinating and highly collectible grower Champagne that offers far more than a traditional Blanc de Blancs. Complex, mineral and deeply expressive, it is perfect with oysters, sashimi, scallops, lobster or aged Comté. Enjoy now with a short decant or cellar confidently for 10–15 years.
