2021 Domaine Xavier Monnot Monthélie Les Duresses Blanc is an elegant Chardonnay from Monthélie in Burgundy. Produced by Domaine Xavier Monnot, this wine reflects the refined and mineral-driven style typical of the Côte de Beaune.
In the glass, it shows aromas of green apple, citrus, white peach and chamomile, with hints of almond and gentle oak spice. The palate is crisp, mineral and beautifully balanced, delivering flavours of lemon zest, orchard fruit and subtle ginger spice on the finish.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, Monthélie is a Burgundy village we love recommending because it often delivers Côte de Beaune elegance at a much more accessible price than Meursault or Puligny-Montrachet. The 2021 Xavier Monnot Les Duresses is a fantastic example — precise, mineral and beautifully structured. It pairs wonderfully with grilled fish, scallops, roast chicken or creamy seafood dishes, and will also develop additional complexity with a few years in the cellar.
