The 2024 Naked Run BWC Barossa Valley Shiraz is a bold yet polished Shiraz sourced from a low-yielding single vineyard in the renowned Greenock sub-region of the Barossa Valley. Named after the winery's three founders—Baraglia, Wood and Currie—the wine is fermented in small open fermenters, with a portion undergoing natural fermentation before maturing for around 20 months in French and American oak barriques. The nose is rich and expressive, revealing aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and ripe plum, layered with roasted meat, dark chocolate, char and baking spice.

On the palate, it is full-bodied with a silky texture, generous dark fruit and fine, dusty tannins that provide structure without heaviness. Flavours of cassis, plum and black cherry are supported by notes of cocoa, savoury spice and well-integrated oak, leading to a long, balanced finish. The wine is enjoyable now after a short decant and has the concentration to develop further over the next 8–12 years. The BWC Shiraz has also earned multiple accolades, including Barossa Wine Show recognition across recent vintages.

Ben's Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for customers who enjoy classic Barossa Shiraz with richness, structure and regional character. Pair it with grilled rib-eye steak, slow-roasted lamb, beef brisket, barbecue dishes or mature hard cheeses. Best served slightly below room temperature after a short decant, with rewarding drinking now or careful cellaring over the next 8–12 years.
