Fleurie is one of the most renowned crus of the Beaujolais wine region in eastern France, celebrated for producing some of the most elegant and perfumed expressions of Gamay. Often referred to as the “Queen of Beaujolais,” Fleurie is known for its refined and delicate style.

The appellation benefits from a semi-continental climate and granite-rich soils, which are ideal for cultivating Gamay. The vineyards are typically located on rolling hills, allowing for good drainage and optimal sun exposure, contributing to wines with balance and aromatic intensity.

Fleurie wines are made exclusively from Gamay and are characterized by their floral aromas—such as violet and rose—alongside bright red fruit flavors like raspberry and cherry. Compared to other Beaujolais crus, Fleurie tends to produce lighter, more elegant wines with silky tannins and excellent drinkability, while still offering the potential for short- to medium-term aging.
