The 2020 Domaine Sauveroy Cuvée Andécaves is a rich and structured Cabernet Franc from Anjou-Villages in the Loire Valley. Grown across schist, sandstone and quartz soils, it shows ripe blackberry and dark plum alongside sweet spice, subtle smoky notes and a gentle earthy character.
On the palate, it is full and concentrated, with generous dark fruit supported by firm yet silky tannins. A traditional 23-day maceration builds colour and structure, followed by malolactic fermentation and 12 months of maturation in barrel. The oak brings subtle complexity without overwhelming the fruit, leading to a long, elegant and structured finish.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Cabernet Franc drinkers looking for a richer and more structured expression of Anjou. With several years of bottle age, it offers generous dark fruit, savoury complexity and well-integrated tannins. Ideal with grilled lamb, roast beef, steak, slow-cooked beef, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses.
