DOMAINE DUSEIGNEUR
Rooted in the southern Rhône Valley, Domaine Duseigneur has built a reputation for soulful, biodynamic wines that speak clearly of their terroir. The estate was founded in 1967 by Jean Duseigneur, who relocated from Algeria and began restoring abandoned vineyards on the west bank of the Rhône. Today, under the guidance of his son Bernard Duseigneur, the domaine cultivates around 30 hectares across Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Laudun.
From the beginning, the family embraced an environmentally respectful approach, which naturally evolved into full biodynamic viticulture. Certified organic since 2005 and a member of Biodyvin, the domaine works with old vines—some over 100 years of age—rooted in galets roulés, limestone, sand, and clay. These diverse soils yield wines of elegance, aromatic lift, and distinctive Rhône character.
The estate’s range showcases both tradition and precision. Their flagship Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Catarina” blends Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre, offering layers of ripe fruit, spice, and supple structure, while the prestige cuvée “Joanna”, crafted from ancient Grenache vines, delivers rare depth and intensity. Whites, such as Catarina Blanc (a blend of Bourboulenc and Clairette), highlight freshness and mineral finesse, while Lirac and Côtes-du-Rhône cuvées provide vibrant, approachable expressions of the Rhône’s charm.
Guided by the principle “to receive and to pass on”, Domaine Duseigneur balances tradition with modern ecological responsibility. The result is a collection of wines that combine generosity with refinement, and that have earned recognition among sommeliers, collectors, and enthusiasts around the world.
