CHATEAU LILIAN LADOUYS
Château Lilian Ladouys is a distinguished wine estate situated in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. Its origins date back to 1564 when it was known as “La Doys,” held in fief by Jacques de Becoyran, lord of Lafite. The estate gained prominence in the 18th century under the ownership of the Barre family, who constructed the château and elevated its reputation, leading to its classification as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1932.
In 2008, Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti acquired Château Lilian Ladouys, initiating significant investments to revitalize the vineyards and modernize the winemaking facilities. Their daughter, Manon Lorenzetti, joined the venture in 2018, furthering the family’s commitment to excellence. These efforts culminated in the estate being honored with the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel status in 2020, a testament to the quality and consistency of its wines.
The estate’s vineyards encompass approximately 80 hectares, planted predominantly with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with smaller proportions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. In 2020, Château Lilian Ladouys embarked on a full conversion to organic viticulture, reflecting its dedication to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Château Lilian Ladouys produces wines that embody the rich terroir of Saint-Estèphe. The grand vin is known for its balance of ripe fruit flavors, structured tannins, and refined oak influence, offering both immediate appeal and aging potential. The estate also produces a second wine, La Devise de Lilian, which provides a more approachable expression of the vineyard’s character.
