CHATEAU LASCOMBES
Château Lascombes is a distinguished Deuxième Cru Classé (Second Growth) estate from the 1855 Classification of Margaux, revered for its depth, richness, and modern refinement. Situated on some of the appellation’s finest gravelly soils, the château traces its history back to the 17th century, named after its early owner, the knight Chevalier de Lascombes.
The estate encompasses around 120 hectares of vineyards, predominantly planted to Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot complementing the blend. This higher proportion of Merlot, unusual for Margaux, lends the wines a plush, opulent texture balanced by Cabernet’s structure and length.
The wines of Château Lascombes are known for their concentrated fruit, velvety tannins, and polished oak integration, showing both power and elegance. In great vintages, they age gracefully, revealing layers of blackberry, plum, violet, and spice, framed by a refined, lingering finish that epitomizes the grandeur of Margaux.
