CHATEAU BOURGNEUF
Château Bourgneuf is a historic family-owned estate in Pomerol, one of Bordeaux's smallest and most prestigious appellations. The clay-rich sections help produce concentration and structure, while gravel contributes drainage, aromatic complexity and finesse.
Merlot dominates the vineyard at Château Bourgneuf, complemented by Cabernet Franc. This classic Pomerol combination creates wines with generous fruit and supple texture while maintaining freshness and structure. Typical expressions offer aromas and flavours of plum, black cherry, blackberry and raspberry alongside violet, cedar, cocoa, tobacco and earthy spice.
In the cellar, careful fruit selection and controlled vinification are used to preserve the character of each vintage and vineyard parcel. Maturation in French oak provides additional complexity and structure without overwhelming the natural fruit. The resulting wines often show appealing richness when young while possessing the tannin and balance required for medium- to long-term ageing.
