The 2025 L&C Poitout Petit Chablis is a fresh, expressive Chardonnay from the domaine’s Sycomore cuvée. The fruit comes from the “Sur les Clos” site in Chablis, including a well-exposed parcel planted by Catherine Poitout. The nose shows lemon and citrus peel with green apple, ginger and subtle flinty notes, combining freshness with the domaine’s characteristic mineral style.
On the palate, it is lively and crisp with bright acidity, citrus and orchard fruit supported by a clear mineral backbone. A gently rounded, almost velvety texture provides more weight than expected from Petit Chablis, while ginger and stony notes add complexity. The established winemaking uses temperature-controlled tanks rather than barrel ageing, keeping the Chardonnay pure and refreshing through the finish.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Chablis drinkers who enjoy crisp Chardonnay with citrus freshness, mineral character and a little extra texture. Best enjoyed young and chilled. Pair with oysters, grilled prawns, fresh seafood, goat’s cheese, roast chicken or light creamy dishes.
