The 2012 Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is a prestigious vintage Champagne made from 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay sourced from Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger in the Côte des Blancs. The nose is rich and expressive, showing candied citrus, Williams pear and apricot with lemon meringue, brioche, nougat and almond, underpinned by chalky minerality.
On the palate, it is broad and concentrated yet beautifully energetic, with ripe citrus and orchard fruit carried by vibrant acidity and a fine, silky mousse. A saline, iodine-like mineral character provides tension, while pastry, almond and subtle toasted notes add complexity. Around 5% of the wine spends four months in new oak before the Champagne undergoes approximately 10 years of cellar maturation, leading to a long, precise and deeply mineral finish.
