2018 Les Charmes Chinon Rouge from Chinon is a refined single-vineyard Cabernet Franc crafted by Domaine Charles Joguet, one of the most respected estates in the Loire Valley. The vineyard sits on clay-limestone soils, producing wines with structure, freshness and strong ageing potential.
The 2018 vintage shows aromas of plum, blackcurrant and red berries, layered with notes of herbs, spice and subtle cocoa. On the palate the wine is balanced and elegant, with supple fruit, fine-grained tannins and a mineral backbone typical of Chinon Cabernet Franc. The finish is long and refined, with gentle spice and fresh acidity carrying the wine through.

At Wine More Cellars, Chinon is one of the regions we love recommending to customers who enjoy Burgundy-like elegance with Bordeaux-like structure. The 2018 Les Charmes is a beautiful example — layered, savoury and very food-friendly. It pairs wonderfully with roast lamb, duck, grilled beef or mushroom dishes, and will continue to develop complexity in the cellar over the next 5–8 years.
