GUY AMIOT ET FILS
Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils is a family-run estate rooted in Chassagne-Montrachet, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. Founded in 1920 by Arsène and Flavie Amiot, the domaine has been carried forward through successive generations—Pierre, then Guy, and today under Thierry and Fabrice (fourth generation), with the fifth generation also now involved.
They cultivate around 12 hectares of vineyards with holdings in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious terroirs. White wines (especially Chardonnay) are central, including plots in Le Montrachet Grand Cru, and Premier Crus such as Les Demoiselles (Puligny-Montrachet), Les Caillerets, Les Chaumées, Les Vergers, among others. They also make red wines (Pinot Noir), plus village and Bourgogne level wines.
Viticulture is traditional, with many vines dating from the 1920s-1930s, giving “old vine” character. Winemaking features careful respect for terroir, hand harvesting, barrel fermentation for whites (often with a proportion of new oak for the top wines), and balanced élevage. The style is often described as elegant, with layered fruit, mineral complexity, freshness, and finesse rather than overt power.
Their wine range spans nearly the full hierarchy: Bourgogne (regional), village level, Premier Crus, and rare top-of-the-line Grand Cru (notably Le Montrachet). Prices steepen accordingly. The whites are particularly sought after, especially from their Montrachet lot.
