The 2022 Bader-Mimeur Château de Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge is a beautifully refined village Pinot Noir from one of Chassagne-Montrachet's most historic family estates. Sourced from 55 to 75-year-old vines in the estate's historic Champ Derrière vineyard behind the château, the fruit is hand-harvested, fermented in traditional wooden vats and matured for 12 months in French oak (around 20–25% new). The nose is elegant and expressive, revealing raspberry, cherry and cranberry layered with rose petals, subtle oak spice and delicate earthy notes. Awarded 93 points by Wine Enthusiast, it is a standout example of red Chassagne-Montrachet.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins, bright acidity and impressive balance. Vibrant red berry fruit is complemented by savoury spice and finely integrated oak, leading to a long, refined finish with excellent freshness and finesse. Elegant yet structured, this is a classic Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir with the ability to develop beautifully over the next decade.
