The 2020 Adams Ingelheim Spätburgunder Auf dem Haun is sourced from one of the top limestone sites in Ingelheim, Rheinhessen. Owned by Simone Adams and farmed biodynamically, the west-facing vineyard sits on a steep slope with up to 75% limestone in the subsoil, producing a Pinot Noir of remarkable tension, precision and ageing potential. Fermented with 100% whole bunches and matured for 18 months in used barriques, it is one of the estate’s flagship wines.
The nose reveals sour cherry, redcurrant, blackberry, licorice and spice, underpinned by subtle oak and limestone-driven minerality. The palate is elegant yet concentrated, with vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins and a long, savoury finish. Falstaff awarded the wine 94+ points, while Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rated it 92+ points, praising its purity, precision and mouthwatering structure.

A superb German Pinot Noir that offers a serious Burgundy-like experience at a fraction of the price. Complex, mineral and beautifully structured, it pairs perfectly with duck, roast quail, pork loin, mushroom dishes and game birds. Enjoy now with a decant, but it has the balance and structure to evolve gracefully through 2035 and beyond.
