The 2024 Hubert Lignier Symbiose Bourgogne Rouge is an exceptional organic Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines. Produced by Laurent Lignier, this cuvée is named Symbiose because it blends fruit from several carefully farmed parcels across the Côte d’Or, creating a wine that captures the elegance, depth and complexity of multiple terroirs in a single expression. The challenging but highly promising 2024 vintage produced small yields and concentrated fruit, resulting in a Bourgogne Rouge that drinks well above its classification.
The nose reveals redcurrant, wild strawberry and cherry alongside notes of rose petal, sweet spice and subtle forest floor. The palate is silky and energetic, with vibrant red berry fruit supported by fine tannins and bright acidity. Hints of crushed stone and earthy complexity add depth, while the finish is fresh, mineral and beautifully refined. Despite its regional designation, the wine shows impressive concentration, texture and finesse.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A superb organic Burgundy that overdelivers for its level and showcases the quality of the Lignier name. Elegant, vibrant and highly food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck, pork dishes and mushroom-based cuisine. Enjoy now with a short decant, or cellar through 2032–2036 as it develops greater savoury complexity and Burgundian nuance.
