The 2023 Vincent Girardin Pommard 1er Cru Les Épenots is a superb Pinot Noir from one of Pommard’s most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards. Sourced from old vines averaging 45 years of age in the famed Les Grands Épenots climat, the wine is grown on clay-limestone soils that deliver both power and refinement. Vincent Girardin’s meticulous winemaking and careful oak ageing produce a classic Pommard with impressive depth, structure and ageing potential.
The nose reveals black cherry, redcurrant and wild raspberry alongside notes of violet, spice and subtle earthiness. The palate is concentrated and beautifully structured, combining vibrant dark berry fruit with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Hints of crushed stone, forest floor and gentle oak spice add complexity, while the finish is long, savoury and elegantly persistent.

A classic Premier Cru Pommard that balances power with finesse. Structured, complex and highly age-worthy, it pairs beautifully with roast duck, beef fillet, lamb and game dishes.
