The 2023 Prophet's Rock Home Pinot Noir is the flagship Pinot Noir of the estate, sourced exclusively from the organically certified Home Vineyard on the elevated terraces of Bendigo, Central Otago. Planted on ancient clay, limestone, schist and quartz soils, the vineyard produces fruit of exceptional depth and mineral character. Handpicked, wild fermented with gentle extraction and matured for 17 months in French oak (35% new), the wine opens with captivating aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and violets, layered with dried herbs, spice and crushed stone. Awarded 97 points by James Suckling and 97+ points by Wine Advocate, it is one of New Zealand's benchmark Pinot Noirs.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky, ultra-fine tannins, vibrant acidity and remarkable mineral tension. Concentrated red and dark berry fruit is framed by savoury spice and a long, seamless finish that is both powerful and elegant.
