The 2023 Immich-Batterieberg Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling is an extraordinary dry Riesling from one of the Mosel's most revered vineyards. Farmed organically by Gernot Kollmann, the Enkircher Ellergrub vineyard sits on steep, blue slate slopes within the historic Starkenburger Fels, where vines over 80 years old produce wines of exceptional elegance and longevity. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured on full lees in traditional oak casks, the wine opens with captivating aromas of white peach, citrus blossom and wild herbs layered with flint, wet slate and a touch of liquorice. Awarded 96 points by James Suckling and 96 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, it is one of the estate's finest wines.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with crystalline acidity, remarkable concentration and a silky, finely textured mouthfeel. Layers of ripe citrus and stone fruit are framed by profound saline minerality and exceptional precision, leading to an extraordinarily long, dry finish of striking purity and persistence.
